About
I’ve never been a big fan of ‘about me’ pages, so I’ll keep this brief. I’m a 2009 graduate of Syracuse University with a double major in newspaper journalism and religion. I grew up in rural northwestern Pennsylvania. And, most importantly for this blog, my 27 month-long service as a Peace Corps volunteer began on August 20, 2009. You can e-mail me at dan.thalkar@gmail.com

I have really enjoyed reading your blog and I hope you write more. I am also a recent journalism grad (University of Arizona) and I am also about to take off for the Peace Corps – going to Central America in a few months (pending political stability…).
I also think I will be teaching too. Got any advice? Is there anything you wish you would have brought? Are the lesson plans your own creation or do you have something to go off of?
PEACE

Sarah, Thanks for your comments. I’m glad you enjoy it. A lof of the packing questions are location-specific, but I’ll work on a post talking more about what the teaching process is like. Should have it up in a couple days.
